Road crews getting ready for first snow

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Many organizations are getting ready for snowy weather.

The Wicomico County Roads Division tells 47 ABC they have plenty of salt to make it a little easier for drivers braving the weather.

Plows are ready to roll and for now at least it’s just time to wait.

Lee Outten, Superintendent of the division said, “As soon as it starts snowing, they’re going to be in here. The second there’s enough on the road or we feel the salt is going to start being effective, we’re going to go ahead and get it down to get that base down.We will be ready for whatever we get.”

If you do plan to drive during the storm and you see a snow plow, the roads division is reminding you to keep a safe distance from snow plows as they do their job.

The farther away you are, the less likely you are to get hit with salt or worse.
