Porch pirates caught on camera in Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. – Police are asking for help identifying a couple of porch pirates that have been caught red handed, thanks to a doorbell camera.

The surveillance footage from the victim’s doorbell camera on Irons Avenue in Millsboro was able to pick up the perpetrators coming up to the door and taking the packages off it and then leaving in a black vehicle.

It’s a move that’s happened before, but thanks to an increase in doorbell security systems and it’s making it easier to catch the culprits.

“These cameras have actually been beneficial in quite a few cases recently where these perpetrators are being caught on camera as they approach doors. Not only the victim’s door, but a lot of times these will pick up cameras from other people’s doors or across the street or down the road,” explains Det. David Moyer of Millsboro PD.
