Police arrest Salisbury man on drug charges following traffic stop
SALISBURY, Md. – A traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs Wednesday afternoon.
Officials from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office say a deputy stopped a vehicle for a moving violation at around 4:30 PM. On contact with the driver, identified as 25-year-old Christopher Layton, the odor of marijuana was observed coming from within the vehicle.
A subsequent search led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana, along with a bag of crack cocaine.
Layton was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, but was later released on personal recognizance.
