Police arrest Dagsboro man on numerous drug and weapons charges
DAGSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a 52-year-old man on numerous drug and weapons charges on Friday in Dagsboro.
According to police, members of Sussex Governor’s Task Force responded to the 30000 block of Squirrel Lane to assist Probation Officers with a search regarding probationer David Tharp.
Probation Officers were reportedly conducting a pre-approved administrative search at Tharp’s residence and found the following items:
Approximately 14.49 grams of methamphetamine
Drug Paraphernalia
Llama .380 semi-automatic handgun
.380 caliber ammunition
Over $500 dollars in suspected drug proceeds
Reports say the 52-year-old man is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition. Tharp was reportedly taken into custody without incident and taken back to Troop 4 where he was charged with possession of a fire during the commission of felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of drug paraphernalia and more.
Tharp was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,600 dollars secured bond.
