Part of Burnite Mill road is closed for drainage
FELTON, Del. – Part of a road near Felton was closed on Monday, so DelDOT can work to improve drainage in the area.
Burnite Mill road was closed off this morning – and it is scheduled to stay closed for the remainder of the week.
DelDOT’s maintenance crews are working around the clock to remove and replace crossroad pipes, and replace them with high density polyethylene pipes, which have a longer life span.
This replacement will help improve drainage in the area.
Matthew Lichtenstein, the Central District Engineer for DelDOT said, “The goal is to get it done this week. We’re slated four days, we’re looking at hopefully getting it done in that time frame. Obviously it’s weather dependent, but there’s two pipes we’re going to be replacing at two separate locations and that’s just two right next to one another. Two days for each pipe would be a pretty good goal.”
The road is scheduled to reopen Friday at 3 p.m., weather permitting.
