One dead, one hospitalized following morning house fire

MILLSBORO, Del.–One person is dead and another in the hospital after a fire ripped through a trailer home Tuesday morning.

Fire officials say that the blaze broke out around 4:30AM on the 28000 block of Harmons Hill Road in Millsboro.  When fire crews arrived they found one resident dead inside the trailer. Another resident, a 27 year old woman, was able to escape by jumping out a window.

She is currently being treated at a local hospital for smoke inhalation and is in stable condition. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.

Millsboro, Georgetown and Indian River fire companies responded to the blaze.  The victim was turned over to the Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy is scheduled for today.

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is continuing to investigate.
