OC hosts New Year’s Day concert to bring the community together

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Hundreds are ringing in day one of 2019 at the Ocean City Convention Center for the annual New Year’s Day concert put on by the city.

It’s a free concert to bring the community together and start the year off on a positive note. And this year’s main event was a choir that many have heard already since going viral on Facebook.

Baltimore’s Cardinal Shehan School Choir among other artists took the stage to ring in the new year. It’s an annual concert that the city hopes will bring fun and positivity to start the new year.

“The whole day we’re saying goodbye to the past and we’re looking forward to the future so if we can have a moment together on the first of 2019 and really come together through music that’s what it’s all about,” explains Bryan Russo, a local musician and the concert’s host.

We’re told the city tries to bring something new and different every year. It’s a tradition that started out as a meet and greet and has now evolved into a concert locals don’t want to miss.
