MSP investigating fatal crash in Dorchester Co.
HURLOCK, Md. – One person is dead and another is injured following an early morning crash in Dorchester County.
According to Maryland State Police, the incident happened just after 6 AM Tuesday on eastbound Route 392, west of Finchville Road. Preliminary investigation has indicated that a Freightliner that was traveling eastbound on Route 392 crossed the dotted yellow line and entered the westbound lane of traffic, directly into the path of a Nissan Xtera that was traveling westbound. The Freightliner subsequently hit the driver side of the Xtera.
The driver of the Nissan Xtera, identified as 50-year-old Yevette Young of Seaford, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger of the Xtera, identified as 27-year-old Victor Randolph of Seaford, was taken to PRMC for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash.
The driver and sole occupant of the Freightliner, identified as 35-year-old Solomon White of Dagsboro, was not injured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
