Maryland Eastern Shore women’s hoops wins fourth straight, undefeated in MEAC

PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- With a 59-49 win over North Carolina Central on Saturday afternoon, the Maryland Eastern Shore women’s basketball team is off to one of their best starts in conference history.

The win gives the Hawks their fourth straight win, starting 3-0 in the MEAC. UMES was powered by Ra’Jean Martin with 16 points, followed by CiCi Byrom with 14, and Dominque Walker who pitched in a 11 point, 10 rebound double-double.

The Eagles led for a majority of the game (32 minutes total), but a late fourth-quarter run from coach Fred Batchelor’s squad gave them the win.
