UPDATE: DSP arrest suspect wanted in connection to New Year’s Day attempted burglary

 

LAUREL, Del. – Officials have arrested a man wanted in connection to a burglary that happened during the early morning hours on New Year’s Day.

Delaware State Police responded to a house on Broad Drive, around 4 a.m., for reports of an attempted burglary. Investigators learned that Ronald T. Hastings, of Laurel, tried to break into the house. The home owner confronted the 43-year-old, before he ran away into a wooded area.

Hastings was located in the 12000 block of Camellia Lane in Bridgeville on Thursday, and subsequently taken into custody. Police also found Hastings to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $10,000 cash only bond on attempt to commit burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
