Locals raise funds for organization that helps families, co-workers following loss of officers in the line of duty

OCEAN CITY, Md. – A fundraiser for the Maryland branch of Concerns of Police Survivors, or COPS, was held Friday at Greene Turtle.

The Green Turtle hosts the annual event, and is promoted by Hogs and Heroes Maryland Chapter 8.

The organization helps families and co-workers of officers who were lost in the line of duty.

We’re told it was put on by the organization Hogs and Heroes, who have raised about $84,000 on the national level since 2010.

“We go around to many different events throughout the area, and we try to just give back as much as possible,” said Joe Baumann, President of Hogs and Heroes Maryland Chapter 8.

You can help out if you want, you can either go to Hogs and Heroes website, or you can give directly to COPS here.
