Howard T. Ennis School opens new Thrifty Eagle store
FRANKFORD, Del. – Dozens of people from the Indian River School District came out to celebrate the opening of a new Thrifty Eagle store in Frankford on Friday.
According to Superintendent Mark Steele, the new store allows students at the Howard T. Ennis School to prepare for the workforce after graduation.
Students will keep inventory and greet shoppers for a hands-on experience. Steele said this is all part of the school’s Student-Centered Transition Education and Pre-Vocational Program.
“The program itself is tremendous for the students,” said Steele.
“They have the opportunity to keep the inventory, to make sure it’s fully stocked, to meet and greet people as they come like shoppers and really helps the kids socially and emotionally,” said Steele.
According to Steele, the store will be open three days a week from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM at the G.W. Carver Center.
