How to prevent ice from forming on your driveway
If you haven’t salted your driveway or sidewalks just yet, you still have time.
The temperatures will dip into the teens late Monday night into early Tuesday morning, so you are urged to salt your sidewalks and driveway if you haven’t already as soon as possible.
The quicker you apply the salt, the better it will work at preventing ice from forming Monday night, but salt isn’t the only thing that can help you out. You can also invest in an ice pick to chop away at any ice that forms on your front steps and for your car, you can buy a de-icing spray.
Matt Weisner, the Sales Manager at the Ace Hardware store in Salisbury said, “We have the ice melt that will go to almost negative 25 degrees and work so as long as you’re reading which one you’re getting, you should be good. Most of them are good to fifteen degrees.”
If you’re worried about the effect salt can have on your furry friends paws, there are actually salts you can buy that are pet friendly.
