Harley Davidson has its sights on former Gander Mountain building
SALISBURY, Md. – In Salisbury, one American chain is looking to set up shop at the old Gander Mountain location. Rommel Harley Davidson is looking to fill the empty warehouse with its beloved motorcycles.
This is the first time the city has gotten any interest in the space since Gander Mountain closed nearly a year ago. And with Harley Davidson being a type of destination spot, Salisbury is hoping it will bring something new to the area.
Salisbury Mayor Jake Day explains, “It brings in people with disposable incomes. It brings in people that other shops or stores might not be bringing into our community, so I look at it as a broadening of the things that we offer here.”
The planning and zoning committee is set to hear from Rommel Harley Davidson in a meeting Thursday at 1:30 p.m. If approved, the project will go through the permitting process before construction begins.
