Forum held to discuss conservation in the bay

CAMBRIDGE, Md. –  One organization is hoping to make a change for the better for the Chesapeake Bay environment.

The Maryland Sportsmen Foundation put together this Striped Bass Recreational Fishery Forum in hopes of educating and sharing ideas in the name of conservation.

We’re told fishers came to them two years ago saying they saw a lot of moralities with Rock Fish.

Now this group is working with the Department of Natural Resources to enact change, and maybe take their findings to Annapolis.

“Fishermen , sportsmen really care about the Chesapeake Bay, and the more we educate them on the tools that are out there, and some of the science, the better off we’re all going to be,” said chair of the Maryland Sportsmen Foundation, David Sutherland.

This was their second forum, as of now there is no plan for future meetings, but they are in the process of planning them.
