Eastern Shore Loses Close to NC A&T
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore dropped, both their women’s and men’s contest, to the North Carolina A&T Aggies on Monday.
The women took advantage of 16 turnovers from the Aggies in the first half to march to a 19-16 lead at the break. North Carolina A&T went on a late run to take a one point advantage with 19 seconds left to play. Ciani Byrom had a chance for the go-ahead bucket but couldn’t convert with two seconds to play.
Byrom tallied 1,000 points in her career at Eastern Shore also.
Twenty-five points and 10 boards from Ibrahim Sylla, who also shot 9-10 from the floor, led the Aggies
to take down the Hawks 67-58. The men got off to a hot start also and led by as many as 9 against the Aggies in the first half. But the Aggies went on a solid run and jumped in front for good.
