Downtown Trolley resumes routes, back with more stops
SALISBURY, Md. – The Downtown Trolley is back in Salisbury and that’s good news for people who need to hop on a ride.
Before you jump on, you should know they’ve made some changes.
In an effort to make the Downtown Trolley more user-friendly, more stops have been added.
Those stops include Salisbury University Academic Commons, Route 13 in front of Maggs Gym, University Orchard (in the complex), The Gathering, 2 stops in the University Park complex, University Village, Cedar Crossing/The Seasons, Evolution Craft Brewing, Mojo’s, Market Street Inn, Salisbury’s Downtown Plaza, Brew River, William’s Landing, and South Blvd at Hanson Street.
We’re told adding more stops not only gives more people the opportunity to make their way into downtown, something that helps local businesses, it also gives people a safe ride across the city, whether they don’t have another mode of transportation or if they had one too many at the bar.
“Students seem really excited to know there is this resource, and to learn more about downtown and hopefully we’ll get more foot traffic from the students. The goal is to let them know what’s going on, and then hopefully keep them after graduation,” said city administrator Julia Glanz.
The trolley began running Thursday night, it will run on Thursday and Friday nights from 9 PM to 2 AM, and after 6:15 PM on Third Friday’s. This service will run throughout the SU spring semester.
