Dover Police arrest two on assault and other charges
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police have arrested two suspects who reportedly assaulted and threatened a woman with a gun Sunday morning.
We’re told that just after 7:30 AM, a 37-year-old woman became involved in a confrontation with 27-year-old Nathaniel Hampton in the 300 block of Frear Drive. Hampton allegedly hit the woman in the head with a revolver multiple times, pointed a gun at her, and fired one shot, which nearly hit the victim.
The victim then began to flee but was confronted again by Hampton and 26-year-old Chelsie Cooper. Cooper reportedly pointed the revolver at the woman and threatened to kill her before fleeing the scene.
Hampton was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless endangering first degree, aggravated menacing, conspiracy second degree, assault third degree, possession of marijuana, and terroristic threatening. He was released on $11,000 unsecured bond.
Cooper was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless endangering first degree, aggravated menacing, conspiracy second degree, and terroristic threatening. She was released on $20 unsecured bond.
