Dover man sentenced in 2018 home invasion

DOVER, Del. – A Dover man was recently sentenced in connection to an armed home invasion that occurred in February 2018.

26-year-old Mahdi Wilson pleaded guilty in Kent County Superior Court to two counts of first degree robbery, home invasion, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and first degree unlawful sexual contact.

The charges stem from an incident that happened during the early morning hours of February 14th, 2018. According to police, between 1:30 AM and 3 AM, Wilson and a second suspect forced their way into an apartment inside the Woodcrest Apartment complex. The victims were reportedly ordered to lay down on the floor at gunpoint while the suspects raided the apartment and stole various items.

Wilson also reportedly sexually assaulted one of the victims, a 19-year-old female, during the incident.

Wilson is facing 20 years in prison, followed by home confinement or work release and two years of probation. He also must register as a Tier 3 sex offender.

Police say the second suspect was never identified.
