Delmar erases 12-point halftime deficit in win

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. – The Delmar Wildcats roared back in the second half to steal a win from the Marcela Warriors 62-59.

Mardela took control in the first half behind 12 first-half points from Jarren Smith. Delmar was able to cut into the deficit in the second quarter, but still found themselves trailing by 12 points the half.

In the second half, the Wildcats starting clicking offensively and were able to take the lead on a JW Walker three-pointer late in the third quarter. The teams would trade leads back and forth headed into the late stages of the fourth quarter. With 15 second left Marcela had the ball, trailing by one, but Smith stepped on the sideline and turned the ball over.

The Warriors had one final shot to tie the ballgame, but couldn’t connect at the horn. Delmar tacks on their eighth win of the year and snaps a two game losing streak.
