UPDATE: Del. fire officials on scene of a submerged vehicle in Sussex Co.

11:20 AM UPDATE: Officials have recovered the vehicle from the water. We’re told that nobody was inside, and that it was allegedly a stolen vehicle.

MILLSBORO, Del. – 47 ABC has learned that several dive teams and various emergency officials are currently on scene of a reported vehicle in the water in the area of South Maple Street.

We’re told that dive teams from the Millsboro Fire Company, Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department, Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company, BLS units, Sussex County EMS, Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, and Delaware State Police are on the scene.

The Millsboro Fire Department tells 47 ABC that it is too early to tell if anyone was in the vehicle, or how long the car has been in the water. A tow truck is reportedly en route to the scene to remove the vehicle.
