Benefit held to help family of child battling Chiari
SEAFORD, Del. – A benefit has been held for a 3-year old girl who has touched many lives across the eastern shore.
Sophia Jones has been battling Chiari, a brain malformation, so far she has gone through four major brain surgeries.
Sophia and her mom Hannah have been in New York for treatment, but the community here at home has rallied to help the family in their time of need.
The Moose Lodge is offering up their facility for Saturday night’s fundraising event, while the band Fuzzbox Piranha is donating a concert, all in the name of helping this sweet girl with her battle.
“We are so appreciative of every single thing, whether it’s a prayer, a thought, the cash donations, the time people are putting in. Nothing is taken for granted,” said Sophia’s grandmother, Judy Jones.
