Abbott’s Grill in Milford set to close Jan. 12th

MILFORD, Del. – In Delaware, one staple in downtown Milford is closing its doors. Nine years ago, Abbott’s Grill was one of the first restaurants to open up shop in the downtown Milford district.

It quickly became a spot locals loved, but the owner says for the past two years its been a struggle to stay afloat and now they’re officially closing their doors on January 12th.

“A number of new businesses have opened up and those have taken a little piece of our business. We’ve been trying for about a year and a half to two years now to create an events space to raise some money to do some things but we’ve been unable to do it,” explains Kevin Reading, owner of Abbott’s Grill.

Reading says they will be having a celebration of life at the Milford Location on January 12th and the public is invited.  We’re also told that the Laurel location will remain open.
