Worcester Youth & Family Counseling Services collecting hygiene products for families in need
BERLIN, Md. – In Berlin, the Worcester Youth and Family Counseling Services are accepting hygiene products for families in need.
We’re told families struggling financially tend to focus on food and rent rather than buying hygiene products. Since there’s a need in the Worcester County population, they’ve been delivering soap, shampoo, and cleaning supplies to different Head Start programs.
Their Executive Director, Steven Taylor tells us, “Imagine one’s self esteem if they can’t go to school clean or they feel dirty so by providing these products and allowing people to go clean and fresh it boosts their self esteem and confidence in themselves.”
We’re told they started a Bus Stop Snack Shack back in June to provide meals for children after school but now they’ve been handing out these bags of hygiene products, as well.
The more supplies they receive, the more they can help the community and that’s where you can come in and help.
If you’d like to donate, you can bring those hygiene products to their location in Berlin.
