University of Maryland Eastern Shore holds 22nd graduation ceremony

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -University of Maryland Eastern Shore students graduated in Friday’s 22nd Winter Commencement Ceremony.

Walking to that famous tune  Pomp and Circumstance we’re told 271 students turned their tassels Friday representing the next chapter of their lives.

In front of a packed auditorium of a few hundred, UMES graduates accepted their diplomas.

University officials tell us this class is something special. Why? Because so many of them already have their futures mapped out.

Director of Public Relations Bill Robinson said, “A lot of them told me that they either have job interviews in the next week or two or they have jobs already promised to them so we feel good that our degree has value.”

Friday’s ceremony was broadcast on UMES’s live-stream for families who couldn’t attend to watch their loved one walk across stage from home.
