Town prepares for annual Muskrat Dive

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. –  The town is preparing for its New Year’s Eve tradition, the annual Muskrat Dive.

At midnight, Marshall Muskrat will be descending from Independence Hall into the middle of Somerset Avenue.

The event will have the usual music, dancing, great food and drinks, but there will also be a two-dollar muskrat tasting.

The Washington Inn and Tavern will be the ones with muskrat on the menu, for anyone who wants to get their fill of the eastern shore dish.

“It’s weird, it’s definitely weird, so if you’re looking for a memorable New Year’s Eve, we can promise you that for sure,” said Carrie Samis, Princess Anne Main Street Manager.

The event takes place New Year’s Eve, this Monday night, from 9 PM to 1 AM along Somerset Ave. That road will be closed from Broad Street to Prince William Street from 8 PM until 1 AM.
