Tavern hosts ugly sweater party, to distribute toys at local church

GEORGETOWN, Del. –  Folks had a chance to make a difference this holiday season at the Stockley Tavern.

The theme was ugly Christmas sweaters and giving, as folks were encouraged to dawn their sweaters and bring toys to be distributed at a nearby church.

This is one of quite a few initiatives being undertaken by the tavern recently, including a fundraiser to help the Delaware Division-II champion Sussex Central Golden Knights.

And the fundraisers will just keep rolling at the tavern. We’re told this April they are holding an inaugural cornhole tournament to benefit fallen firefighters.
