Police seize drugs and handgun during search of home

DOVER, Del. – A Dover man is currently behind bars after police found a large amount of drugs, as well as a handgun, during a search of his home.

Dover Police and Delaware Probation and Parole executed a search warrant at a home in the 3000 block of William Street Wednesday morning.

During the search, officials seized 6.8 grams of crack cocaine, 1,096.1 grams of marijuana, 90 doses of oxycodone, a 9mm handgun, and packaging material/paraphernalia.

The resident, 34-year-old Gary Stanley, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts of possession of a firearm/ammo by person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of oxycodone, possession with intent to deliver oxycodone, and drug paraphernalia.

He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $123,500 secured bond.
