Police: Salisbury shooting ruled ‘accidental’
SALISBURY, Md. – We have an update now on a shooting that took place earlier Wednesday in Salisbury. Officials with the Salisbury Police Department have ruled the incident that left one person injured as an accidental shooting. Police say around noon, officials responded to shots fired on the 200 block of Marshall Street. They say they found one male victim inside a home with a gun shot wound to his leg. He was later taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police add that they now have a 36-year-old Salisbury man in custody as a result of the incident who will be criminally charged. And that’s good news for residents who say they were surprised to watch the chaos unfold.
“I was in the house washing dishes, and all I heard was fire trucks and police and I came around the corner to see that they were on the corner,” said resident Alexus Deshields.
“I came outside and met with my friend. I live a couple of blocks down and I went to make sure that he was safe,” said another resident Skyler Kiefner.
Officials add that there are no further threats to the community. We will continue to update you on this story as additional details are released.
