UPDATE: Police investigating fatal pedestrian-involved car crash

FELTON, Del. – Delaware State police are actively investigating a fatal pedestrian involved car crash that happened Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:15 PM, police say a pedestrian was hit by a car in the area of Barney Jenkins road along the south bound side of Route 13.

The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old male from Salisbury, was properly restrained and not injured in the crash.

The pedestrian has been identified as 23-year-old Chaqui Batson of Dover. According to police, Batson was wearing all dark clothing without any type of reflective material, and was not carrying a flashlight. He was taken to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
