Phase three of Main Street project has begun
SALISBURY, Md. – Work has officially begun on phase three of the Main Street project in Salisbury, meaning we can expect to see more road closures and road work in the months to come.
As part of phase three, drivers can expect to see a block of East Main Street between Baptist Street and North Division Street to be closed during part of the day, Monday through Friday.
Work is expected to continue on the project until early April of 2019.
We’re told this phase will focus on utilities.
Mayor Jake Day with the City Of Salisbury said, “This is a utilities project primarily, so all of our water, sewer pipes, 100 year old water and sewer pipes, will be getting replaced, one gigabit fiber laid into the ground, new storm water management and then streetscaping above.”
The entire Main Street project is expected to be complete by mid 2020.
