Pets pose with Santa to raise awareness in Fenwick Island
FENWICK ISLAND, Del. – Dozens of four-legged friends got the chance to take a picture with Santa Claus dressed up as dog as part of the Fenwick Pet Shop Paws for the Holiday Campaign.
According to the shop owner Willia Peoples the event is a chance for all sorts of dogs and cats to come out and spend time with Saint Nick.
The owner said money collected during the event will be donated to the Coastal Cat Rescue.
Peoples also said the annual campaign is expected to raise more than $1,000 dollars this year for pet animals in need.
“It’s our responsibility to be able to help some of these animals that find themselves in circumstances where they just need a little help and they certainly give us unconditional love in return,” said Peoples.
“And, you’ve seen today some of the dogs that show up and we also have cats that show up,” said Peoples.
According to Peoples, for every $10 dollars nearly a thousand cats will get five vaccinations.
