New Thrift Shop Gets Celebrity Surprise in Pocomoke City

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – A new thrift shop finally opened on Saturday and it garnered some special attention with the surprise of Wanda (Mama) Durant, mother of basketball superstar Kevin Durant.

According to Wanda, the new shop Lisa’s This-N-That is run by close family friends, and that is why she decided to join in on its opening day.

The shop is filled with all sorts of items like dressy shirts, pants, purses, jewelry and even vases.

Mama Durant said Pocomoke City is a heartwarming community.

“The Brown family, Ms. Lilly, and Doe and Lisa have been a part of our family for a quite a number of years,” said Wanda.

“They are friends, and they’ve been really, really good people, God-family people, and so of course they’re someone that we love and so I wanted to support Lisa,” said Wanda.

With some help by Mama Durant, business owner Lisa Brown said it only took a few months to set up the new shop.
