UPDATE: Suspect identified in Del. apartment complex shooting
12/27 UPDATE: Officials have identified the suspect wanted in connection to the shooting incident in the Brightway Commons Apartment complex Sunday evening.
Milford Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 36-year-old Derreck Morris of Lincoln, DE.

MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that left a child injured Sunday evening.
Police say they were called to the Brightway Commons Apartment Complex shortly before 8 PM for a report of shots fired. Officials learned that a bullet had entered a home in the complex and struck a 4-year-old child.
The child was taken to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital but was later transferred to A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
Through further investigation, it was learned that an altercation broke out between multiple subjects within the courtyard on the south side of Allen Way. During the altercation, an unknown subject allegedly fired a handgun, and one of the bullets is believed to have hit the child.
