Milford man arrested after allegedly threatening two people with a handgun
MILFORD, Del. – A Milford man is in custody after he allegedly threatened two people with a handgun on November 29th.
Milford Police say that shortly after 4 PM on the 29th, the two victims were sitting in a vehicle at a traffic light in the area of South DuPont Boulevard (US 113) and Lakeview Avenue (SR 36), when a vehicle pulled up beside them and displayed a handgun in a suspected intimidation attempt.
The suspect vehicle initially followed the victim’s vehicle, but eventually disappeared.
18-year-old Mike A. Chavez was identified as the person that displayed the handgun, and was later arrested at a residence on New Street. Police also found Chavez to be in possession of marijuana during the arrest.
Chavez faces two counts of aggravated menacing and possession of marijuana charges. He is currently being held on $2,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing later this week.
