Massive fire turns fatal; several fire companies respond

BRIDGEVILLE, Del.– The office of the Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating a fatal house fire that erupted overnight in Bridgeville.

Fire officials say that the blaze happened just before 10PM Tuesday night along Sussex Highway near Campbell Lane and Parker Lane.

Firefighters arrived to find one person dead inside the home. We’re told that four other occupants were able to escape unharmed.

Fire companies in Bridgeville, Seaford, Blades, Farmington, Greenwood and Harrington were among those that responded and were still on scene Wednesday morning.

The cause is still under investigation.
