Local dress as their favorite fictional characters for Comic Con

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Superheroes and some of your favorite fictional characters packed the Ocean City Convention Center for the annual Comic Con.

Fictional enthusiasts got to meet some of the voices and artists behind famous characters, like superstar DC comics artist Greg LaRocque, and Adult Swim voice actor Carey Means.

The convention gives locals a chance to experience the comic book culture here on the shore, and it’s clear that this event is a hit with locals who get lost in these alternate universes.

“I’ve always been about trying to do something more local,” said James Dufendach, a coordinator for the second-year event. “Get our own events, get stuff down here. And I think we’ve done it. And I think people are happy about it.”

The convention also helps the community at large. A portion of admission will be donated directly to the Hero Initiate, and to the Samaritan Shelter.
