Laurel police spread holiday cheer; give out Christmas gifts

LAUREL, Del. – Santa made an early stop on Christmas Eve in Sussex County.

On Monday the Laurel Police Department spread holiday cheer to kids in need.

With “Eastern Shore Santa’s” help Laurel police officers handed out gifts, some Christmas cookies, and over 40 brand new bikes to kids and it was all thanks to donations made to the Department’s Community Outreach Program

One mother tells us this is a big help and makes this Christmas eve extra special and she’s happy to see other families in need in her area enjoy this holiday surprise.

Chastity German said, “It was a great idea that they could get together and do something for the kids and community that actually really need some help.”

We’re told all those bicycles were generously donated from Walmart.

The department says if you weren’t able to contribute this year but want to help out give them a call at 302 875-2244
