Harrington Police arrest Felton woman for attempt to flee from police

HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police arrested a Felton woman early Saturday morning after she reportedly led police on a brief chase.

Shortly after 8 AM Saturday, an officer from the Harrington Police Department was on patrol on South DuPont Highway in the area of Fairgrounds Road when a registration check of a vehicle revealed the owner as having an active capias.

The officer then attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the driver failed to stop and subsequently fled at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner. After a brief chase, the vehicle pulled into a driveway in the 2900 block of Hammondtown Road, where the driver, 35-year-old Amber Knolls, was taken into custody.

Knolls faces new charges of disregarding a police officer signal, driving vehicle at unreasonable or imprudent speed and several other traffic violations, on top of having an active capias out of Kent County for breach of release. She is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institute on $4,150 cash bond.
