Funds available to residents to apply for through county

GEORGETOWN, Del. –  Officials from Sussex County were looking for public input on funding available for community development Wednesday night.

The block grant funding is used to assist residents, and typically in the town of Georgetown, this funding can help rehabilitate four to six houses.

Historically, Georgetown has used the funding for small infrastructure projects, like sidewalks and demolitions.

“We work with probably twelve-to-fourteen towns and cities in the county a year. Typically we do 200-240 projects,” said Brady Whaley, the director of Sussex County Community Development Housing Division.

These funds are available for Sussex County residents. If you want to apply, or find out more information, call 302-855-7777.
