Founders of Seton Center to leave program at the end of the year
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The two founders of the Seton Center in Princess will be leaving the program at the end of 2018.
Sister Cecilia McManus and Sister Eileen Eager founded the program in 1983.
“Catholic Charities thanks the Sisters for their 38 years of dedicated service to the most vulnerable on the Eastern Shore. Sr. Cecilia and Sr. Eileen have created, through their steadfast commitment to our neighbors on the Eastern Shore, a legacy of caring service. Their shoes will be difficult to fill. In their honor, Catholic Charities will continue their legacy for generations to come, keeping as our guide star the themes of hospitality, service, and advocacy that served as the foundation of Seton Center,” said Executive Director Richelle A. Vible.
Seton Center, located at 30632 Hampden Ave in Princess Anne, provides basic needs services, behavioral health counseling, food assistance programs, thrift services, and immigration services. They also recently established a mobile office to serve clients who are not able to get to the Seton Center.
Officials from the Seton Center tell us that Sr. Cecilia has accepted a leadership position with the Sisters of Charity, while Sr. Eileen plans to retire from active service.
