Former Eastern Shore private school principal arrested, suspected of raping two students in late 1960s

BARCLAY, Md. – A Prince George’s County man is behind bars following an investigation into reports that he raped two minors at an Eastern Shore private school in the late 1960s.

90-year-old Russell Isaac, of Bowie, has been charged with multiple counts of rape and associated sex offenses. Police say he was arrested at his home on Monday and is currently being held at the Prince George’s County Detention Center.

The investigation began in May 2016 when a female victim reportedly came forward and told police that in the late 1960s, she attended the W.C. Moffett School in Barclay as a 14-year-old student, where Isaac was principal at the time.

Throughout the course of the investigation, a second victim was identified and also reported to having been sexually assaulted by Isaac when she was 15 years old. According to the victims, the incidents took place at the school between 1966 and 1968.
