First ever barber school to open in Sussex County

LEWES, Del. – In a few short months Sussex County will have its first ever school of barbering. Pro Cutz Sports barbershop owner Chester Hope says he’s expecting his school to be up and running by March of next year. He says the school will be made up of three programs students can take where they can get their basic barber’s license, become a master barber, or a barber instructor. He adds that the school will have close to seven spots available where students will be required to complete 1,500 hours of class time.

“I just want to promote the goodness of barbering. One of the benefits is it’s a job. It’s an opening for a job. Skilled labors to me are the backbone of America not just Delaware but also in the area,” said Hope.

Hope says that his school will have scholarships available for students to apply for. And he adds that you must be at least 16 years old to sign up. Future students can call 302-314-4100 or email Procutzschoolofbarbering@gmail.com for more information.
