Fire Marshal offers $11,000 reward for tips on Sussex County apartment fire

MILLSBORO, Del. – The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is now offering an $11,000 dollar reward for information that can help them find out who sparked a massive fire at a Sussex County apartment complex last month.

According to the Fire Marshal’s office, the Carillon Woods Apartments in Millsboro suffered over a million dollars in damages.

And, it appears builders will have to start back from the ground up to replace it.

According to the President of Ocean Atlantic Companies Tom Tipton, the construction company has installed more lights and security cameras to help them spot anything suspicious.

“I mean this a huge project for us, and there’s a lot of people that spent a lot of time and effort putting that building together and to see it burn and to find out it was potentially done by someone on purpose, that’s devastating,” said Tipton.

The building was expected to be ready in March of next year, but is now pushed back to September.

This incident continues to be under investigation.
