Easton holds off Queen Annes behind a big day from Powell
CENTERVILLE, MD- The Easton Warriors got a big road win at Queen Anne’s behind 25 points from senior Lamont Powell
It was a packed house in Centerville as 2-1 Queen Anne’s hosted 2-1 Easton. Off to a 9-0 start to begin the first half, the Warriors were off to a hot start. To end the first quarter, Easton would take the 21-12 lead behind 6 points from Jaden Copper and Marquii Thompson.
In the second quarter the Lions would look to close the gap. Devrin Turner led QA with 8 first half points as the halftime score set at 43-30. Lamont Powell led all scorers with 13 first half points.
The Warriors on fire to start the second half, would go up 20 points midway through the quarter. The Lions though would cut the lead to 15 to end the third but unable to put together a late comeback in the 4th to fall to Easton 78-66.
The Warriors will look to move to 3-1 when they travel to Ridgely to take on the Bulldogs of North Caroline this Thursday. Queen Anne’s will try and get back in the win column when they travel to Cambridge to take on the Vikings also this Thursday.
