Crisfield man sentenced for illegal possession of a firearm
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – A Somerset County man is facing 10 years in prison after he was found guilty of several handgun offenses.
Richard Thurston will spend 10 years actively incarcerated in the Department of Corrections, with the first fives years served without the possibility of parole.
The charges stem back to the execution of an arrest warrant for Thurston back on August 18th, 2017. Officials say during the search a loaded handgun was found inside Thurston’s vehicle. Due to his criminal record consisting of multiple felonies, Thurston is prohibited from possessing firearms.
