Carpenters collecting Christmas gifts for students with disabilities

GEORGETOWN, Del. –  For the fourth year in a row officials with the Carpenters Union Training Center in Georgetown will be collecting gifts, donations, and more for students and families in need this Christmas.  From now until December 20th– officials will be collecting theses gifts for students who attend the Howard T. Ennis School. The school provides educational services to students with significant disabilities within the Indian River School District. Officials add these gifts will be distributed to six students and their families for the holiday. Suggested donations include toys with touch and sound, books, and gift cards.

“My wife kind of got me going with volunteering because she didn’t have much of a Christmas when she was a kid so she wanted to make sure that our kids always had a good Christmas so it’s nice to help the kids out. So she taught me that,” said training center instructor Albert Brocato.

Officials add that if you’re interested in donating you can come to their location in Georgetown to drop of your items between 7:30 AM and 4 PM Monday through Friday.
