Cape Opens Up Season with Win Over Smyrna
SMYRNA-Del. – The Cape Henlopen Vikings took down the Smyrna Eagles 53-51 on Friday behind a 21 point performance from Kristoffer Rushin.
Cape trailed the entire game until under six minutes remained in the fourth quarter. Ja’Vaughn Burton hit the go-ahead three pointer for the Vikings and they never looked back. Ethan Pires tacked on 12 points as well in the Cape win, including the tying bucket with 6:42 in the fourth.
The Vikings will be off until December 11 when they will visit Polytech. Smyrna will continue with a home game against the Dover Senators on December 4.
