Breakfast Honors Local Veterans in Sussex County

MILTON, Del. – The Broadkiln Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6984 provided breakfast to some veterans and their families who needed a helping hand this time of year on Sunday.

According to the Jr. Vice Commander of the post Terry Baum, this is an annual event and it brings the community together for a good cause.

Some of the delicious food at the event included eggs, crispy bacon, warm pancakes and even some biscuits.

Baum said the event is a great way to support our troops overseas.

“We’re really active with the fire hall and the police department,” said Baum.

“Actually, the Chief of Police in Milton is one of our members here at the post, the Home of the Brave in Lincoln, and then if we have local veterans that just need help, we try to help them out,” said Baum.

Baum also said the breakfast is just one of several events the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6984 organizes throughout the year to support our local veterans.
