Bennett survives scare, tops Kent Island in opener
The James M. Bennett Clippers boys basketball team trailed for a big part of the game, but ultimately came away victorious topping Kent Island 60-57 Thursday night in Salisbury.
Jordan Williams finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. Starters Antwan Armstrong (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Harold Morton (10 points, 10 rebounds) paced the Bennett charge late. Senior Jamyron Cannon’s late three pointer put the Clippers up two points late, and they would hold on for the lead.
Bennett (1-0) goes on to host Snow Hill next Tuesday, while Kent Island (0-1) hosts St. Michaels on the same night.
